IMS Coaching Services
IMS provide support and advice to groups or individuals in order to help them recognize ways in which they can improve the effectiveness of their business through more complete implementation of their strategies.
Gone are the days when utilising external support is seen as ‘bringing in the consultants’ and an admission that something is going wrong. Many successful modern companies now recognise the benefits of quality coaching support and see it as an important method of building momentum in the organisation.
These organisations recognise that performance improvements can be accelerated by introducing new approaches and an external perspective through coaching.
The IMS Coaching Service is about achieving optimum performance levels. We only work with committed people who want to reach that ‘next level’ – this is what excites us most. We always focus on what works and what the client wants to achieve next.
The support our clients receive accelerates their progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. The coaching concentrates on what works about the client’s current approach and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.
The coaching is not sector specific.
IMS Philosophy of Coaching
Although often engaged by the employer, the IMS focus is on the individual with whom we are working. We believe that every client is creative and resourceful and capable of achieving more of what they want. It is the IMS coach's responsibility to:
- Clarify what the client wants to achieve
- Understand the current levels of performance
- Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
- Build momentum for actions
- Hold the client responsible and accountable
The Coaching Process

The initial meeting is an opportunity for the client and coach to get to know each other and see if there is a good fit for coaching. During this meeting the coach will:
- Clarify the ground rules for the coaching relationship
- Detail what the coach expects from the client and what the client can, in turn, expect from the coach
- Outline confidentiality agreements and the ethics and standards that guide the coaches behaviour
- Learn what is important to the client and build goals and measures of success for the coaching relationship
The initial meeting differs from the actual coaching sessions; it enables the coach and the client to define goals and design the ongoing relationship required to realise these goals.
